To the North...

The historic city of Bristol (25 miles) has plenty to do and see - shopping at Cabot Circus, the Clifton Suspension Bridge, parkland, the harbourside and excellent dining and nightlife. Stoke St Michael is the closest village (2 miles), which has a village shop and a Pub.

East...

Situated only 16 miles north east is the city of Bath - it's World Heritage Site status makes it one of the most wonderful places to visit locally. Other must visits include Longleat Safari Park (15 miles) and of course Stonehenge (35 miles).

South...

The Waggon and Horses Pub is just 5 mins walk and serves home cooked food. Shepton Mallet is the closest town (3 miles) and further south is Yeovil (22 miles). If you fancy a day on the beach then Weymouth, Dorset is just 1.5 hrs drive.

and West...

Wells Cathedral (5 miles) and the enchanting Glastonbury Tor (13 miles) are worth a visit plus Wookey Hole and Cheddar are both nearby (10-15 miles). For festival/show goers: we're very close to the Bath & West Showground and Pilton.

West Country

Somerset and the Mendips - a very special place to visit … excellent walking, mountain biking, horse riding, potholing, cider, arts and crafts, festivals, country pubs and historic cities plus good access to Bath, Bristol and Exeter or a day trip to the Devon/Dorset coast.

Choices, choices… Hot Tea or Coffee, Fruit Juice, Croissants and Fruit with a selection of Cerals, plus a Full English Breakfast if you've an active day ahead - all served up in a tastefully redecorated farmhouse dining room with its solid flag stone floors, oak table and chairs.

A warm welcome to Knapps Farm, Somerset

Some background… we purchased Knapps Farm B&B in the spring of 2007.
We have since made numerous improvements to the farmhouse and grounds and have now decided to restart the B&B. Improvements include; 2008 the kitchen was completely renewed with hand made solid oak units by a local craftsman; 2008 decided to have 3 Alpacas, which after a few years of breeding the herd has now increased to 21; 2009 we had the small pond extended to an acre fishing lake stocked with Carp; 2010 we added a large glass roofed conservatory which makes an ideal place to sit and relax, especially for star-gazing. 2011 Knapps Farm Campanile was constructed which is 8 Bells, 10lb Mini Ring and shortly to be augmented to 12. We are situated in a very picturesque area with outstanding views to Bath and we can even see the White Horse at Westbury.

We can offer 2 rooms. Room 1 (Wool Down) is a double with shower en-suite and views over the Alpacas. Room 2 (Lake View) can either be a twin or a queen double with bath en-suite and views over the lake. Both rooms have been tastefully decorated and furnished with free view TV, free Wi-Fi, complementary tray, fruit and bottled water.

Location

We are situated in an ideal place for those wishing to visit the numerous attractions around Somerset and the Mendip Hills (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). We have the Royal Bath and West Showground just 10 minutes drive away, or Chedder Caves, Wookey Hole, Longleat, Wells Cathedral and the historic City of Bath plus many more that are just a short drive away. We also have many walking areas for those who like to explore the outside. There is a footpath and bridleway just minutes’ walk away from our farm. Walk across some of the fields and you may see the deer grazing in the grass, see as far as the White Horse at Westbury plus there are many excellent Mountain Biking routes and Potholing caves available for the more adventurous. For nature lovers you’re welcome to help feed our Alpacas, fish or ducks on the farm plus we have many visits from Canadian Geese who stop off at the farm to feed and water - we’ve had over 140 land at one time!
